Hyderabad: Telangana plans to set up India's largest integrated pharmaceutical city with affluent plants and a township for employees. The government plans to attract investment of Rs 30,000 crore in phases.
The government plans to leverage on the existing ecosystem of pharma companies in Hyderabad. It may be noted here that Hyderabad is also known as the bulk drug capital of the country and accounts for nearly a fifth of India's exports of drugs.
The government has said in a press note that several existing drug makers have shown interest in setting up greenfield projects with an employment potential of 70,000 persons in the proposed pharma city.
