Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the state government's goal is to turn Odisha a model over the delivery of healthcare.Naveen said the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) has turned in to be a blessing for the people once virtually launching health infrastructure projects worth over Rs 1,140 crore. Every year, at least one lakh patients get medical treatment by the scheme. "It reflects our commitment to offer quality health care to the people and making Odisha a model in the sector."
The chief minister said the people have gained confidence in government hospitals as result of their transformation under the 5T initiative, and that the government is strengthening infrastructure in all health facilities, including PHCs, CHCs, and DHHs. He said the state government has spent Rs 12,000 crore in the last five years to improve health infrastructure.
The chief minister said the government's goal is to achieve its goal of "Healthy Odisha, Happy Odisha." The government is working at all levels to reach this goal, he said, that work is in progress to transform the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack to a world-class health institution. He said every life is useful and that the government is working with that in mind.
The chief minister created a helpline for Odia who live outside the state and want to use BSKY services. Health and Family Welfare Minister Niranjan Pujari said remarkable changes occurred in the state's health care field in the last two decades.VK Pandian, Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha, oversaw the event. Anu Garg, the Development Commissioner, Shalini Pandit, the Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, and other senior officials were present.
