The official stated that end-to-end facilities will be provided in the pharma city during the inaugural of a two-day pharma expo and conference being organised jointly by the Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil) and the State government as part of celebrating 75 years of India's independence.

 

The state is developing Hyderabad Pharma City as a world-class, long-term industrial cluster, and is now acquiring land in the Ranga Reddy district.

 

"In the pharma city, exporters will have access to a full infrastructure. We're also building a medical devices park," Jayesh Ranjan stated, adding that exporters are critical to attaining better GDP development.

 

Krishna Ella, Chairman and Managing Director, Bharat Biotech International Limited, said in his keynote address that innovation was critical in the pharma-biotech business, and that human resources and skill sets were crucial in innovation-led growth. 

 

Ella further said “China's success may be attributed to their skill sets, even if their language abilities are lacking."

 

"Previously, Hyderabad was known as the bulk drug capital of India, but today it is known as the vaccine capital," R Uday Bhaskar, Director General, Pharmexcil, said in his welcoming address.

 

According to Uday Bhaskar, India has given 66 crore doses of vaccines to over 95 nations, and eight of the top 20 global pharmaceutical businesses are based in India, including two from Hyderabad.
