Prime Minister Narendra Modi advocated for raising the caliber of goods and services to meet international standards and stated that the administration is moving to make India a center for global manufacturing.
In his Independence Day speech to the nation, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of "design in India, design for the world" and urged manufacturers to make goods that are suitable for both local and foreign consumers.
Indian quality is renowned for being the best. We now need to concentrate on India's design industry for the global market. It is imperative that we endeavor to ensure the Indian Standard is adopted as the International Standard. Everything we do will be readily accepted if the Indian standard is adopted as the global norm. This will rely on how well we produce, serve, and handle things," Modi stated.
"India will soon emerge as the global center for industrial manufacturing, and everyone will be watching," Modi stated. He also discussed the government's highly successful production-linked incentive (PLI) system, which is worth Rs 1.97 trillion. India is to become a manufacturing powerhouse, reduce reliance on imports, and generate jobs as a result of the program.
Instead of relying on the import of phones like in the past, PM Modi claims that India has been able to develop an ecosystem to manufacture and export mobile phones to the world thanks to the policies put in place by the government. The result has been comparable even in the toy industry.
"FDI reforms have also greatly strengthened our position. MSMEs have seen significant growth. Our manufacturing sector has grown into a global manufacturing powerhouse as a result of the development of a new system, Modi remarked.
The Bharatiya Janata Party agenda, which pledged to turn India into a global manufacturing hub and increase employment in vital industries like electronics, defense, mobile phones, and autos, is also reflected in the prime minister's speech.
The largest corporations in the world want to invest in India, according to Modi.
"I've noticed that, following the elections, investors make up the majority of those requesting to meet with me for a third term. This is a hugely advantageous opportunity. He stated, "I ask the state governments to draw in investment.
He went on to say that as a result of the government's recent actions, India is attempting to be self-sufficient in defense and is becoming a major hub for manufacturing worldwide. He also mentioned that, in the past, the bulk of the defense budget was spent on importing weapons and equipment, but that, in an effort to make the country self-sufficient, his administration concentrated on homegrown production.
