NHPC restores 4th unit of Uri-II power station in Jammu & Kashmir

State-owned NHPCBSE 0.53 % has restored a unit of the Uri-II power station in Baramulla district, Jammu & Kashmir, which had been shut down following a fire incident in November last year.

The Unit-4 is the first turbine that has been made operational after a fire broke out at the plant in November last year. All four units of the plant were shut after the incident and the company is working on to restore remaining 3 units of the plant.

“One unit (i.e. Unit # 4) of URI-II Power Station has been restored on June 15, 2015 after the fire incident occurred on November 20, 2014,” NHPC Ltd BSE 0.53 % said is BSE filing.

Uri-II power station (4X 60MW) is a run-of-the-river project which is located in Uri Tehsil of Baramulla District.

The project has been designed to make use of Jhelum waters at a gross head of about 130m following the discharge of Uri-I tail water upstream.
