Daikin plans to boost its supply of items made in India and start up a third factory

On Thursday, Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt Ltd announced that, with the commercialization of its third plant, it plans to expedite the supply of goods made in the nation for both local and foreign markets. The business, a fully-owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd. of Japan, announced the opening of its third integrated air conditioning and compressor manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, at a cost of Rs. 1,000 crore.

As part of a PLI programme, the new 75.5-acre plant was established, enabling the corporation to take advantage of India's manufacturing capacity and produce goods for the global market.

"We have customers in more than 170 countries and over 100 production facilities worldwide, but India is particularly important to us." Masanori Togawa, president and chief executive officer of Daikin Industries, said in a statement, "We are underscoring the significance of India in Daikin's global ambition as we grow our manufacturing base in the country."

"The country's dynamic market and skilled workforce align perfectly with our mission and we are confident that the new facility will not only elevate the standard of HVAC solutions but also contribute significantly to the growth of the industry in India and the surrounding regions," he added.

According to Daikin Airconditioning India, the recently opened plant is devoted to the development of climate-friendly air conditioning solutions for markets in the Middle East, South America, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, West Africa and East Africa.

Chairman & Managing Director of Daikin Airconditioning India, K J Jawa, stated, "This facility will not only enhance our production capabilities but also strengthen our position as a leading provider of energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) solutions in the region."

According to him, with new plant, "Daikin's production capacity receives a substantial boost, further solidifying our commitment to growth in India."

The business has made 2,800 crore rupees in investments in India thus far.
