The Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) has made a $50 million equity investment in Global Dental Services, the parent company of Clove Dental, India's largest technology-enabled dental platform.
The group operates more than 400 company-owned and company-operated dental clinics under the Clove Dental banner, a statement in the sovereign wealth fund.
The QIA funding will "unlock significant growth opportunities for the group as it seeks to expand across India, ensuring that more Indians have access to reliable, high-quality, and affordable dental care" .
This investment in Clove Dental comes as QIA looks to broaden its portfolio in India's fast-growing economy, and comes recent investments in the retail and real estate sectors, and its own green energy investments.
QIA has built a wide range of investments in innovative healthcare companies in the potential to solve societal problems and address unmet medical needs close to the world in recent years. Star Therapeutics, a biotechnology company committed to developing life-changing therapies for rare diseases, is one of the most recent healthcare investments.
