A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of a cancer treatment facility in the Msasani neighbourhood of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, has been signed between Apollo Hospitals Group and Eclipse Group, Africa. Through this agreement, Apollo Hospitals will offer medical services with cutting-edge cancer treatment options.
The 60-bed, cutting-edge cancer facility will provide complete care for cancer, from diagnosis to treatment. Cancer patients of all ages, from children to adults, will be able to get medicinal, surgical, and radiation treatment. Over 55 million people in Tanzania will have access to top-notch cancer care thanks to the center's best-in-class treatment and care provided by a team of skilled oncologists, cancer care management, and cutting-edge technology.
Mr. Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, and Mr. Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, the Indian High Commissioner of India to Tanzania, witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Mr. Dinesh Madhavan, President Group Oncology and International, Apollo Hospital Enterprises Ltd., India, and Mr. Zahir Damji, Chairman, Eclipse Group Africa.
Mr. Dinesh Madhavan, President of Group Oncology and International at Apollo Hospital Enterprises Limited, announced the partnership and said, "In line with our vision to touch billions of lives worldwide and provide the best Apollo clinical excellence, we have partnered with Eclipse Group of Africa to build a quality-driven Apollo Cancer Centre in Tanzania. Together, we can improve Tanzania's healthcare system and help residents of its neighbouring nations receive high-quality cancer care without having to travel far for it. This relationship of trust and dedication will exponentially expand the cancer centre.
Mr. Zahir Damji, Chairman of Eclipse Group Africa, supported the reform in Tanzania and stated, "Our partnership with Apollo Hospitals, a leader in global healthcare, is a source of pride and gratitude. In 2002, the two nations inked an agreement on health and medicine. Collaboration between the two countries in the area of health has been significant. The partnership between Apollo Hospitals, India, and Eclipse Group Africa will give Tanzania and India the chance to strengthen their relationship and collaborate to realise their common goals of ensuring that everyone has access to top-notch healthcare.
Apollo Hospitals will also establish a state-of-the-art diagnostic facility with top-notch imaging, ultrasonography, and laboratory capabilities. The wider Tanzanian public will benefit from easy access to advanced PET CT, CT, and MRI services by receiving the proper and precise diagnosis.
