Through one of its subsidiaries, Vedanta has entered the International iron ore mining sector in Africa.

In June 2022, the event took place at the Bomi iron ore mine.

Vedanta Iron & Steel has entered into international iron ore mining activities in Liberia, West Africa, through its subsidiary Western Cluster Limited (WCL).

Bloom Fountain ('BFL'), which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vedanta, is the parent company of WCL.

For three iron ore mining concessions in Liberia, namely Bomi, Bea, and Mano, WCL and the Government of Liberia (the "GoL") signed a Mineral Development Agreement in 2011.

However, the Ebola epidemic's onset prevented the activities from getting underway. According to Vedanta, WCL is about to resume operations with the possibility for future growth through exploration.

One of the top oil and gas businesses in the world, Vedanta, a division of Vedanta Resources, has extensive activities in India, South Africa, and Namibia in the areas of oil and gas, zinc, lead, silver, copper, iron ore, steel, and aluminium as well as electricity.

Despite a 41 percent rise in operating revenue to Rs 39,342 crore in Q4 FY22 over Q4 FY21, the business reported a 10% decline in its consolidated net profit to Rs 5,799 crore.
