Following up on the mega project, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has urged that the Visakhapatnam Beach Road Corridor be upgraded as soon as possible to guarantee that it is the greatest in the world. The beach road connects National Highway 16 to Visakhapatnam Port through Bhogapuram and Bheemunipatnam, with the goal of easing traffic for the projected Bhogapuram International Airport. It also plans to cut the time it takes to get from Visakhapatnam to the new airport in half. The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority is in charge of the project (VMRDA).
During his participation in the road safety council meeting, the Chief Minister also called for measures to ensure that road designs are given special attention. He demanded that the project be completed as soon as possible. He also mentioned that the state has set a record by allocating 2,205 crores for road construction and upkeep in a single year.
The Visakhapatnam Beach Road Corridor aims to provide opportunities for logistics hubs, tourism, rural and urban growth, and the service industry. It is situated along the state's seashore, allowing for a beautiful drive for visitors. With more than 300 acres of land being bought for the project, it's debatable whether the city will be considered the state capital.
The VMRDA presented a 6-lane road design that would span 20.2 kilometres and connect various settlements. The projected Bhogapuram Greenfield International Airport is due to begin construction, and the Chief Minister wants to improve connectivity and guarantee that neither scheme is hampered. The Chief Minister has asked for the establishment of a lead agency for road safety as well as a road safety fund, citing the terrible status of the state's roadways. He also supported cashless treatments for traffic accident victims, and he backed those who assist them.
