Tata Motors bags an order of 500 electric vehicles from Lithium Urban Technologies

Tata Motors and Lithium Urban Technologies, India's largest electric vehicle (EV) fleet provider, have declared entering into a long-term partnership, spanning development and supply of both mass transit and freight segments. As part of this recent deal, Lithium Urban Technologies will include 400 units of the newly launched long-range Tata Tigor Sedan EV sedan to its fleet, which will be dispatched and deployed across India by the end of financial year 2019-2020. And the remaining 100 Electric Vehicles will include Tata's upcoming EVs such as the Nexon EV for Corporate Leadership Transport Services.

Speaking about the new order and association, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, President of electric mobility business & corporate strategy, Tata Motors, stated, "This is not only the most momentous milestone for Tata Motors' E-Mobility Business, but also a big turning point in the EV market, which is now likely to see fleets electrify faster than before. We are very excited to enter to this partnership with Lithium, who are well focused on their realistic expedition of widening their Zero-Emission Transport Service rapidly.”

On the other hand, Mr. Sanjay Krishnan, founder of Lithium Urban Technologies mentioned, “The introduction of new expanded range future EVs and Tigor EVs into our portfolio will bring further distinction to our service offerings for the passenger services. This cooperation with Tata Motors will establish opportunity of new form factors and empower growth of new market sectors across passenger, mass transit and freight.”
The recently launched long-range Tigor Electric Sedan comes with an extended range of 213km on a single charge. And qualifies for FAME II incentives for eligible commercial customers and genuinely certified by ARAI.
