Schindler India, the leading providers of escalators & elevators and a 100% owned subsidiary of Schindler Group, in keeping with its focus on Make in India and to service the growing infrastructural demands, inaugurated India’s only MNC Escalator manufacturing facility at Chakan in Pune.
IGBC Platinum awarded, Schindler India elevator manufacturing facility, is fully functional from beginning of 2014. This sprawling, world-class campus is spread across 200,000 sq. mtrs. & houses the elevator factory, a 71-meter tall elevator test tower, the global R&D centre, Schindler University and the new escalator plant. All this is a testimony to Schindler Group’s commitment to the Indian Market and the endeavour to be closer to customers and offer them innovative mobility solutions.
Speaking at the launch Uday Kulkarni, president, Schindler India said, “Schindler is the first multinational company to have the elevator & escalator manufacturing facilities in India. Both the manufacturing facilities are aimed at further advancing and establishing Schindler’s technological and manufacturing capabilities to serve the growing Market of India.
