Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Delhi-based Tata Power DISCOM are partnering to explore possibilities of collaboration at electric utility level in India.
The two companies will work jointly to build up the energy storage system, grid-connected solar rooftop PV, electric vehicle and smart grid initiatives, and conduct studies related to these areas.
The MOU includes establishing capacity building programs jointly for project developers, government departments, distribution utilities, PSUs, etc.
The MoU was signed on October 24 in New Delhi, in the presence of Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD, Tata Power-DDL, and Joerg Gaebler, principal advisor, GIZ.
Gaebler applauded Tata Power-DDL to being the first company in India to join them in the effort of installing 5GW of distributed solar power by promoting standardized rooftop PV systems for the broader mass by the year 2022.
