The Indian Medical Association’s top awards were won by Dr Hrishikesh D Pai and Dr Rishma Dhillon Pai of the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India for their contribution to the field of gynaecology and fertility treatments.
The award function was organized by the IMA on 23rd September in New Delhi.
Dhillon Pai was awarded the ‘Woman Empowerment Award’ by the IMA and Dr Hrishikesh D Pai was honored with the ‘Doctor of the Year Award’.
A pioneer in the Uterine Balloon Ablation therapy, Dr Rishma Dhillon Pai has also contributed to the society in several initiatives for women’s health, helping needy patients in delivery, mobilizing 1,500 private gynecologists to volunteer their services free of cost, and public programmes on gender awareness.
Dr Hrishikesh Pai is the Secretary General of the FOGSI. He has come up with many innovative ideas such as assisted laser hatching, spindle view, ovarian tissue freezing for cancer patients, oocyte freezing, IMSI, and embryoscope.
“This award has encouraged me to push myself to continue working for the community with the knowledge I possess,” said Dr Hrishikesh Pai after receiving the award.
“It is an honor to receive an award as prestigious as The Woman Empowerment Award from IMA. As someone who believes that women can achieve what they dream of, I believe this award will be an encouragement to not just me but to many other such women who wish to work for the bnenfit of the society through their field of work,” said Dr Rishma Dhillon Pai.
