Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), a body of ministry of corporate affairs to promote exports, has given substantial facts for rolling out of international flights from the city. FEIO has stated that a bulk of exportable items exports through Mumbai port and exports also travel to international destinations via Mumbai or Delhi. If an international flight starts from the city, this traffic will be benefited at large. Convener FIEO (MP and Chhattisgarh), Suber Rampurawala has communicated the same to airport director Aryama Sanyal in a letter to her. She is taking efforts to roll-out international flights from the city.
Talking to this correspondent Rampurawala said, “I appreciate the effort, which reflects her concern of starting international flights from Indore.” He informed that the move would facilitate member exporters to travel directly to their destination for business deals who, at present have to travel to the foreign nation either via Mumbai or Delhi. “This is a great move which will facilitate our member exporters to strengthen their business activities,” he said. Rampurawala expressed hope that international flights from the city would commence in near future.

There was huge demand for by products or value added products of soyabean. Soyabean de-oiled cakes (DOC), durum cotton yarn, pharmaceutical, handicraft, and auto components were exportable items from the state. Besides them, chickpeas, diamonds and stones, engineering goods, spices (fenugreek, garlic, chilly, corianders) herbal and forest products could also be exported from the state.
Major exportable markets for the state products are UAE, Japan, Korea, China, and the USA, France and Latin American nations. Madhya Pradesh is also rich in production of species from Neemuch and Mandsaur region and now many firms have started value addition to their production and have been doing well in national and international markets. Apart, we have many pharma units who can explore their business tieups in international markets. The state has bulk of its trade coming from small, medium and large scale manufacturing and service industries which range from automobile to pharmaceutical and from software to retail and from textile trading to real estate apart from traditional agri exports.
MP is among the fastest growing States in India in gems and jewellery, pharma products, transport equipment, machinery, readymade garments, agro produce like soya and wheat, leather made animals etc. The state shares 55 per cent of total national production of soya. Handicraft items from the state are also making inroads in international markets viz; UK, Japan Thailand, Vietnam, Pakistan, UAE, Bangladesh, France, Singapore and Belgium. FIEO is an apex body of all export promotion councils, commodity boards and export development authorities purely engaged in export promotional activities across India. It has a large spectrum of activities and has forged strong links with counterpart organisations in several countries.
It is also recognised with other international agencies which enable Indian businessmen for direct interaction with their counterparts. FIEO is also registered with UNCTAD and other UN bodies and world agencies like IMF, ADB, ESCAP, WORLD BANK, FAO, and UNIDO and also has several bilateral arrangements for exchange of information, as well as for liaising with several industry associations across the world.
