Larsen and Toubro, an Indian multi-national conglomerate, headquartered in Mumbai, engaged in technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and the financial services on June 19,2017 won the order valued Rs 2,231 crores across various business segments which include building and factories business, power transmission and distribution business, water and effluent treatment business.
L& T building and factories business has received the order worth Rs 1324 from Andhra Pradesh Township Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd for the purpose of the construction of residential building in the west Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. This project is the part of scheme launched by prime minster Narendra Modi named as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna ( earlier known as Housing for All) , with the objective of providing affordable housing solution for all the citizens of India.
The Power Transmission and Distribution business has bagged order worth Rs 540 crores from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd to build a section in the +800kv HVDC bipole link between the western and southern region. In addition, an engineering, procurement and construction contract has been received from NHPC Ltd with the objective of developing 50MW Grid Connected Solar PV project including the evacuation arrangements, near the border of Theni and Dindigul district in Tamil Nadu.
Water and Effluent treatment business has won the order valued Rs 367 crores from Tamil Nadu water supply and drainage board in order to execute a dedicated water supply project for Erode Corporation. The scope of the work includes construction of an intake cum pump house in the river Cauvery, a 120 MLD water treatment plant, water storage structures along with supply and laying of clear water mains, feeder mains and distribution system.
