India and Mongolia Examine A Proposed Oil Refinery

India and Mongolia reviewed into the progress of the central Asian country's first oil refinery which is being built with assistance from New Delhi.
 
The survey of the project was finished during the three-day visit of Saurabh Kumar, Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs, to Mongolia.
 
Kumar had conversations with Mongolian state secretary in the foreign ministry N Ankhbayar andcalled on minister of education and science L Enkh-Amgalan and minister and chief cabinet secretary D Amarbayasgalan.
 
He visited Gandan and Pethub monasteries as well as examined the construction site of the oil refinery project in Dornogobi province, according to an external affairs ministry statement.
 
"During the visit, the two sides talked about additional reinforcing of India-Mongolia Strategic Partnership and maintaining high-level engagements," it said.
 
The statement said the different sides traded sees on participation in different areas, including formative association, training, IT, sustainable power, network, culture, limit building, hydro-carbons, mining, safeguard and security.
 
"Conversations zeroed in on Indian undertakings in Mongolia, including 1.5 mmtpa Petroleum Treatment facility Venture, A B Vajpayee Focal point of Greatness in IT, Correspondences and Reevaluating, and India-Mongolia Fellowship School," the assertion said.
 
The different sides additionally traded sees on provincial and global issues of shared interest, the assertion said.
 
The treatment facility is supposed to decrease Mongolia's reliance on oil imports from Russia.
 
Once completed, this refinery be able to process 30,000 barrels of unrefined petroleum each day or 1.5 million tons every year and assist the country with addressing its requirements for oil based goods, for example, gas, diesel, aeronautics fuel, and condensed petrol gas.
