A prominent "Recycling Company," Gravita India Limited, has stated that its step-down subsidiary in Ghana, Recyclers Ghana Limited has begun producing recycled polypropylene granules commercially at its new recycling facility, which has an initial annual production of about 1,200 MTPA.
Additionally, the business intends to raise this capacity to 2,700 MTPA in the following phase.
Similar plastic recycling facilities operated by the same corporation already exist in Senegal, Mozambique, and India. Additionally, this is consistent with the company's goal of expanding its recycling operations internationally.
The Group invested around Rs. 1.90 crores from internal accruals of the company for the purchase and commissioning of this new recycling plant.
This plant will provide domestic plastic scrap to the company for use in production, and it will serve the demands of North American, European, and Asian plastic manufacturing businesses. By expanding the contribution from the plastics industry, this factory will assist the corporation in changing its sales mix.
