Granules India Will Invest $12.5 Million to Establish a Packaging Facility.

Granules India has entered the US pharmaceutical packaging market and will spend $12.5 million on a new building in Prince William County, Virginia. The company will become one of the few pharmaceutical companies with vertical integration from API to packaging as a result of the move.

According to Krishna Prasad Chigurupati, founder and managing director of Granules India, this will increase the reliability of our supply chain and allow the business to respond even faster to consumers' growing demand for pharmaceutical products.

Due to Prince William County's reactivity, which facilitated Granules quicker access to commercialization, the company chose Virginia.Prince William also offers a lively and diversified workforce that is eager to work and is close to a number of important seaports. According to a news release, Granules decided to grow within Virginia in order to take advantage of the state's current manufacturing infrastructure and labour force.

The facility, which will bring previously outsourced services back in-house, will be a component of the Hyderabad-based company's consumer health division. In order to set up packaging lines and clean rooms for the manufacturing and shipping of medications, Granules will lease 79,000 square feet of the Parkway 66 property at 7,413 Cushing Road in Manassas.

"Virginia continues to draw pharmaceutical manufacturing and Granules India's new packaging facility in Prince William County is a vital addition to the pharmaceutical ecosystem in the Commonwealth," stated Governor Glenn Youngkin, the governor of Virginia. The further growth of this collaboration is something we anticipate.
