The new machine has replaced the Sakurai Oliver 20x28-inch press, which was a secondhand machine installed in 2007.
The print firm has organised a launch event on 14 November to introduce the new press to top customers.
"All of the company’s packaging work that was previously handled by an ageing Sakurai Oliver 20x28-inch press (a secondhand machine installed in 2007) has now been moved to the larger format 24x30-inch RMGT 760E," said Rajesh Morani of Amar Offset Printers.
The 24x30-inch size, according to Morani, is what he was looking for in a new machine. “It allows me to play with different sizes of packaging boxes – 18x23-inch, 20x30-inch, 22x28-inch etc.
The 760E is a B2 litho press with a top speed of 13,000sph. It uses a single-sized plate, single-sized blanket and a double-sized impression cylinder. This is set in a ‘seven o’clock position’ in relation to the blanket cylinder, which means the sheet can be fully printed before it is transferred.
"In presses where the cylinders are not set in a seven o’clock position, the sheet has to commence its transfer towards the next unit while it’s still being printed. That’s where you can disturb the image by distorting the dot," said Vinay Kaushal of Provin Technos, who represent RMGT in India.
Amar Offset converts about 30 tonnes of paperboard monthly, majority of which is duplex board. With the new RMGT, Morani aims to double its paperboard consumption in the next three months.

With the 760E, RMGT has reduced the footprint of the machine. To achieve this, it has shortened the delivery length using a semi-high pile delivery system. It has also mounted the off-press control above the delivery system, so there is no freestanding in the off-press area.

The installation space of the RMGT 760 E is reduced to 26% as compared to machines of similar size which have a standalone IPC unit.
Kaushal says, “The main operation and settings such as ink control, water volume control, printing parameter setting, registration adjustment, impression pressure preset , maintenance information, and more, is centrally controlled by the RMGT PCS-K. Thus, the operator has little need to move around so that production efficiency for short-run colour printing is enhanced.”
“In addition, the RMGT 760 E series comes bundled with features like the automatic nip check mode and maintenance mode for enhancement of quality and productivity.”
