Marks & Spencer (M&S) has opened its first store in Coimbatore, which is also its 13th store in the South.

The British retailer operates in India in a joint venture with Reliance Retail.

The new store, which has come up in Brookefields Mall on Krishnaswamy Road, has on display its popular range of menswear and womenswear.

M&S, which came to India in 2001, entered into a joint venture with Reliance Retail in early 2008 to form Marks & Spencer Reliance India. It presently has 46 stores across the country, and in the South it has stores in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Hyderabad and Coimbatore.
