PM Modi holds bilateral talks with Singapore's Lee Hsien Loong at the G20 Summit

 

 
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with his Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong outside of the G20 summit in Bali.
 
The two leaders discussed the enormous potential for India-Singapore cooperation in cutting-edge fields such as solar energy and the green economy.
 
"It was a pleasure to meet PM @leehsienloong in Bali. We talked about expanding opportunities for India-Singapore collaboration in fields like the green economy, renewable energy, fintech, and strengthening trade ties. Singapore is a crucial component of India's "Act East" policy, according to a tweet from the Prime Minister's Office.
 
The India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable's inaugural session, which was held in New Delhi in September, and other frequent high level ministerial and institutional interactions were noted by both Lee and Modi, according to the Ministry of External Affairs' statement.
 
The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to boosting bilateral trade and investment ties, particularly in the fintech, renewable energy, skill-building, healthcare, and pharmaceutical industries.
 
According to the ministry, PM Modi invited Singapore to invest in a variety of fields, including green technology, digitalization, and infrastructure, as well as to benefit from India's Gati Shakti Plan, Asset Monetization Plan, and National Infrastructure Pipeline.
 
The two leaders also spoke about current regional and international events. PM Modi praised Singapore's contribution to India's Act East Policy, as well as its role as the country coordinator of ASEAN-India relations from 2021 to 2024. Both leaders reaffirmed their desire to collaborate to advance India-ASEAN multifaceted cooperation.
 
According to the ministry, PM Modi sent Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong his best wishes for the future and invited him to visit India for the G-20 Summit next year.
 
Earlier, President Joko Widodo of Indonesia officially handed over the G20 presidency to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
