The INDIA TANZANIA SUMMIT 2021 was held at the Federation of Indian Exporters Organization (FIEO) in New Delhi on September 21, 2021, in collaboration with the India Africa Trade Council. The event centered on the development and enhancement of economic connections between India and Tanzania.
Tanzania's High Commissioner to India officially inaugurated the summit. His Excellency Baraka Haran Luvanda, Amararam Gurjar, IFS, Director of the East and South Africa Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Dr. J. Shrenik Nahar, Trade Commissioner of Tanzania, India Africa Trade Council, Varun Jain, Chairman of the India Africa Trade Council (AfCFTA), and Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of the Indian Economic Trade Organization
He went on to say, "There is a lot of interest in India since African nations are looking at India and Tanzania as the Investment Hub because it is a growing area with a lot of potential for multilateral business possibilities because of its welcoming business policies. In addition, the India Africa Trade Council will lead a multi-sectoral delegation to Tanzania in November, concentrating on agribusiness, IT development, and healthcare, with an emphasis on oncology, teleradiology, artificial intelligence, and skill development.”
“The Tanzanian High Commissioner promised to assist Indian businessmen interested in doing business in Tanzania. The IATC Tanzania commissioner offices are anticipated to collaborate directly with several Tanzanian ministries as well as the High Commission in New Delhi. They would also offer Tanzanian investment possibilities to cities like as Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad, as well as Vishakapatnam, Raipur, and Jaipur,” Dr. J. Shrenik Nahar, Tanzania's Trade Commissioner at the India Africa Trade Council, stated.
“According to the Prime Minister's Vision, the African area and India will be at the top of our priorities. India will continue to expand and deepen our relationship with Tanzania, which will be continuous and regular. Tanzanian priorities will influence our development collaborations. We shall also develop as much local capability as feasible and generate as many local opportunities as possible. We will make commerce with Tanzania easier and more appealing. We would help our industries in collaborating with Tanzania,” stated Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of the Indian Economic Trade Organization (IETO), at the Inauguration.
Varun Jain, the Chairman of the India Africa Trade Council said, “My goal is to strengthen multilateral relations and reach new heights between Indian companies and Tanzania, which is a huge market. I will be focusing on the neighboring region, which includes neighboring countries in the region with a large NRI population, and we will explore the opportunities in a structured manner, as our company, NV Beverages, has a strong market in the region, and we will explore the opportunities in a structured manner.”
“The world economy entered a recession in 2020 as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, and the rate of recovery remains unknown. However, the India-Tanzania economic cooperation effort remains generally focused on sectors like manufacturing, food and nutrition security, affordable healthcare, and housing,” said His Excellency Baraka Haran Luvanda, Tanzania's High Commissioner to India.
In addition, the Indian Delegation to Tanzania will go in November with the goal of reinforcing existing ties in order to participate in deeper ways.
