The Indian and Chinese, both appreciated each others concerns and accepted to resolve the market access issues efficiently to achieve the vision of the leaders of both countries by promoting a more balanced trade.

Hu Wei, The Vice Minister, General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), led a six member representatives to India in order to discus upon various issues of market access for different products like milk and milk products, agricultural products like soy meal, fruits and vegetables, tobacco and pharmaceutical products for which India has been seeking market access from China.

For this meeting, that held in New Delhi, the departments of animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries, agriculture cooperation and farmers welfare and associated agencies participated and this meeting was coordinated by the Department of commerce.

The protocol on hygiene and inspection requirements for the export of fish oil from China to India was signed. The signing of protocol defines the general agreement reached by both sides on hygiene and inspection requirements of fish meal and fish oil to be exported from India to China and this will enable and help India to begin export of fish meal and fish oil to China.

The signing of the protocol between the two countries covers the way for export of Indian fish oil and fish meal to China, as China imports fish oil to the tune of US$ 143.29 million and on the other hand it imports fish meal to the tune of US$ 263.43 million.

Few months ago, during the meeting of two leaders that held in Wuhan, the signing of the protocol for Indian rice export to China was made as it covers the way for export of Indian rice to China.

In the last six months, this is the second product to get clearance from China.
