Paradip: After a long gap, export of rice through the Paradip Port was resumed on Monday to mark a new phase of export of agri products in containers through the port.
Unloading of about 2,650 tonnes of rice brought in 42 wagons from Raipur was started in the morning at the container yard of the port.
Simultaneously, the unloaded rice bags were stuffed into the containers.
The rice is being exported to Indonesia by Srilalitha Enterprise Pvt Ltd.
The unloading of rice from the wagons and loading into the container is done under the supervision of Seaways Shipping and Logistics Ltd.
The consignment of rice will be shipped through the vessel Meratus Gorontalo, which is expected to call at port on August 2.
PPT chairman SS Mishra expressed his happiness over export of rice through the port and assured to provide all possible assistance to facilitate anyone interested to use the port for export of agri products.
