Munich-headquartered home appliances major Bosch & Siemens is considering manufacturing more products in India in the next three years, as the demand for premium home and kitchen appliances surges. On Tuesday, said it was increasing its presence in the country by introducing new global range of products.
Gunjan Srivastava, managing director and chief executive of Bosch & Siemens Household Appliances Manufacturing, said, "In the past one year, we have grown 70 per cent compared with the industry's 20 per cent growth." This growth had lead us to consider local manufacturing, Srivastava said.
"The plan is to consolidate our position in both built-in and stand-alone home appliances," said Srivastava.
"People who are upgrading their lifestyle and want their kitchen to be a part of their living room are the target customers. Siemens has been the driver in this segment across the world and that is what we are trying to replicate here," Srivastava said. The $ 13.2 billion company has 43 manufacturing units across Europe, the US, Latin Americas and Asia.
