India-Tanzania trade Soars to over 8 billion US Dollars (21.3tri/-)

The trade volume between India and Tanzania is predicted to increase to 8 billion US dollars (approximately 21.3 trillion/-) in the fiscal year 2024/2025, up from 7.9 billion US dollars (21 trillion/-) in 2023/24. According to Indian Deputy Minister of Defence Sanjay Seth, Tanzania has grown to be India's second-largest trading partner in Africa. Tanzania is a dependable strategic partner in a number of areas, including trade, investment, water, healthcare, infrastructure, mining, and education, Mr. Seth said during a high-level meeting with Vice President Dr. Philip Mpango at State House in Dar es Salaam. Tanzania has strengthened its cooperation with India and continues to be a trusted partner in a wide range of economic and social sectors," Mr Seth stated.

 He also thanked the Tanzanian government for its assistance in hosting naval training sessions and defence equipment shows sponsored by India and its African allies. In his remarks, Vice-President Dr Mpango underlined Tanzania's commitment to strengthening bilateral relationships, stating that strong connections benefit both countries. The visit of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan to India in October 2023 has substantially strengthened our existing relationship and partnership. Dr. Mpango also emphasised India's significant contribution to Tanzania's development, which includes healthcare, education, water supply, transportation, and other public services.
