Trade and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has advocated for a goal of $200 billion in trade over the next seven years, indicating that India and Africa will improve their economic relations considerably. This audacious objective demonstrates both areas dedication to boosting bilateral investment and commerce. Goyal highlighted the wide range of prospects in industries including technology, infrastructure, and renewable energy, underscoring the enormous potential for expansion of commercial connections between India and Africa. Building on the current trade volume and investigating new opportunities for cooperation are the goals of the suggested target. Deeper economic integration and reciprocal advantages for African and Indian countries are anticipated outcomes of the project. It is in line with more general strategy objectives to boost global economic cooperation and trade volumes. Both regions are putting themselves in a position to take advantage of new market opportunities and promote steady economic growth by establishing this goal. In order to contribute to a stronger and more varied economic relationship, the emphasis will be on utilizing current relationships and investigating new investment opportunities.

The Minister argued for closer bilateral ties between India and Africa in sectors like entertainment and vital minerals, and he also mentioned how technology-driven agricultural collaboration will improve both regions' food security.
According to Goyal, Africa can help India meet its needs for vital minerals for industries like electric vehicles. According to a news release, he emphasized the significance of sustainable mining methods and the value addition of minerals in Africa and India through cooperative partnerships. Regarding food security, the Minister suggested cooperation in African plantation industries for export to India and stated that India could make a substantial contribution to the continent's agricultural sector.

According to Goyal, India's advantages in renewable energy, textiles, cars, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture meet Africa's development demands. He added that India's growth needs are met by Africa's advantages in mining, tourism, agriculture, and manufactured goods. In order to promote more technological adoption in Africa and improve financial inclusion, social sector development, transparency, digitalization, and job creation, Goyal proposed leveraging India's digital public infrastructure. Speaking about the entertainment industry as a field with a lot of room for cooperation, Goyal gave the example of Tanzanian musician Kili Paul, who became well-known throughout the world after listening to Bollywood music.
