The official media in this country claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a letter to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to further improve the strategic ties between the two nations and the likelihood of their development to serve their shared interests. The letter from Prime Minister Modi was sent to UAE President Mohamed by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar during his recent visit to the Gulf state.
Jaishankar was in the United Arab Emirates to take part in the third session of the UAE-India Strategic Dialogue and the 14th session of the UAE-India Joint Committee.
The letter is about building and enhancing strategic ties between the two nations in order to advance their shared objectives, according to the official news agency of the UAE, WAM.
According to the statement, "during the meeting, the two sides discussed various aspects of their bilateral relations and the significance of working together to enhance and advance them within the framework of their comprehensive strategic partnership and the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), as well as several regional and global issues of mutual concern.

In FY 2021–22, bilateral trade amounted to roughly USD 72 billion. UAE is India's second-largest export market and third-largest trading partner. Over the past few years, UAE FDI in India has steadily expanded and now totals more than USD 12 billion.
The largest ethnic group in the UAE is the expatriate Indian population, which makes up around 35% of the total population.
With a projected value of close to USD 16 billion for the years 2020–21, the UAE ranks third among India's export destinations (after the US and China).
With an estimated USD 27.93 billion in commerce, India is the third-largest trading partner for the UAE in 2020. (non-oil trade).
