Syska LED has won a tender from Convergence Energy Services Ltd (CESL), a public sector entity, to supply LEDs for homes in rural India using carbon finance.
CESL will purchase 70 lakh 12 watt LED lamps and 30 lakh 7 watt LED lamps as part of the deal. Syska and CESL would split half of the expense and the other half of the income from the selling of carbon credits.
"I expect to see more private actors join forces with government to work toward a shared objective of climate change mitigation," said Mahua Acharya, CEO of CESL.
