Jharkhand launches Rs. 2,080-cr road project

 Adding to the road network in the state, the Jharkhand Chief Minister, Raghubar Das is all set to lay a foundation stone for the construction projects of Rs. 2,080-cr covering a total length of 1,700 km and 35 bridges in the rural heart land of the state. Foundation stones will be laid for the 2,100 km long rural roads and 55 bridges by the CM, shortly. In the next three years, 16,100 km long village roads will be constructed, the CM said that 3,000 km roads will be constructed in this financial year, 6,500 km in 2017-18 and 6,600 km in 2018-19. In its entirety, the state government has approved projects to build 21,865 km roads and 378 bridges. Out of this, 13,437 km roads have been constructed at an investment of Rs. 4,265cr. It should be noted that rural road connectivity programs were started by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, with the view to connect rural areas with metalled roads and district headquarters across the country.
