In order to streamline the movement of vehicular traffic in the city, the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA), in a recent move, has prepared the grounds to invite a national-level consultant to prepare detailed project report (DPR) for the long-pending flyover at the NAD Crossroads entailing an estimated investment worth Rs. 70cr. The flyover will be 2-km long with two side wings to Kancharapalem and Gopalapatnam sides and that the state government wants to entrust the work to a national-level consultant for the preparation of detail project report. Due to the expansion of the city particularly after airport operations went 24/7, the city has expanded towards Parawada, Pendurty, S.Kota, Sabbavaram, and Anakapalle, and moreover, after the bifurcation of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, the government of the state has been projecting Visakhapatnam as the number one and ideal location for both domestic and international investors, who are very keen and willing to invest in the area largely due to its ideal location with the support of the road, rail, water and air transport facilities, the investors are also looking at Visakhapatnam for setting up various units opening up huge future business avenues in the region.
