3.6 GW of New Renewable Energy Tenders Issued by India

Under the project development category, India launched 3,600 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy tenders in September.

In Gujarat, the Deendayal Port Authority has requested proposals for a 1,000 MW solar project, while SJVN has requested offers for a 600 MW wind project connected to the ISTS, according to JMK Research.
 
Additionally, in September, more than 3,000 MW of EPC tenders were released. Coal India Limited (CIL) is one of the companies involved in the development of 3,000 MW of solar projects located in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.
 
India added over 25,264 MW of solar and 4,517 MW of wind capacity between January and August 2025, for a total of 242.6 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity.
