Surat Hosts The Launch Of India's First AI-Powered Solar Manufacturing Line

At Goldi Solar's recently constructed facility in Kosamba, Surat, Gujarat, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi launched India's first AI-powered solar manufacturing line. This discovery, which combines state-of-the-art AI-driven technology to revolutionize solar PV module manufacture, represents a huge advancement in India's renewable energy sector. By improving accuracy, scalability, and efficiency, the AI-powered facility redefines solar manufacturing and fortifies India's shift to a Net Zero future.

The AI-powered plant incorporates a number of industry-first innovations aimed at redefining solar manufacturing, and it has an incredible 14 GW planned production capacity. Among these are high-speed stringers that use AI-driven automation to produce an astounding 10,000 cells per hour, guaranteeing accuracy and uniformity while minimizing mistakes and material waste. For real-time quality control, the facility also has AI-powered AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) tools that use computer vision to find and remove flaws at the microscopic level.

Compared to conventional manual operations, the facility's fully integrated pre-lamination section with an auto EVA laying robot minimizes discrepancies by optimizing the placing of encapsulation layers with little human intervention. Additionally, it has optical (front and rear) inspection systems and AI-powered 3-Display EL, which guarantee that only the best solar modules get it to market, improving durability and dependability.

“India is making quick progress toward energy sustainability and self-sufficiency under PM Narendra Modi's leadership. The 'Viksit Bharat' he envisions involves a vigorous campaign for renewable energy. Businesses like Goldi Solar, which are spearheading India's transition to renewable energy, are essential to achieving this objective. I visited the plant and looked at its robots, high-speed stringers, and AI-powered quality control. In keeping with PM Modi's 'Make in India' agenda, it is encouraging to see Indian businesses spearheading the global clean energy revolution. With an outstanding 14 GW planned manufacturing capacity and ambitions to start cell manufacture soon, Goldi Solar is bolstering India's renewable energy environment," stated Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy.

"Goldi Solar is pleased to be the first solar company in India to incorporate artificial intelligence into the production of PV modules," stated Ishver Dholakiya, the company's founder and managing director. "'Made in India' and 'Make in India' are set to prosper as exports increase and production quality rises with the advent of AI. Our vision of a net-zero India is reflected in our projected 14 GW advanced plant, which also demonstrates our unwavering dedication to innovation, sustainability, and excellence. This achievement benefits not only us but also India's position as a leader in renewable energy going forward," he concluded.
