India added around 6.5 GW of new utility-scale Solar Capacity in the Jan- Dec. Period of 2023. Limit expansion from roof establishments was 3 GW. Around 500 MW was introduced in the off-lattice/conveyed solar segment.
India introduced 10,016 MW of Solar and 2,806 MW of wind power generation limit in the Jan- Dec. period of 2023. Wind installations were 52% up year-on-year, as per new report by JMK Exploration.
The Solar based expansion in 2023 included around 6.5 GW of utility-scale Solar oriented installations (around 42.5% not exactly in 2022), 3 GW in the roof fragment (58% higher yoy), and almost 500 MW in the off-framework/appropriated Solar powered section.
Rajasthan topped in huge scope PV limit expansion with 2,193 MW introduced in 2023, trailed by Gujarat (1,317 MW) and Maharashtra (979 MW). Gujarat led the wind establishments by dispatching in excess of 1,300 MW of new wind projects in the year of 2023.
In terms of cumulative installations, as per the information delivered by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) till December 2023, India's introduced RE limit came to 133.89 GW. Solar powered energy contributes the biggest portion of around 55% of the absolute RE limit, trailed by wind energy (33%), biopower (8%), and little hydro (4%).
