Borosil Renewables Ltd., an Indian global solar glass producer, expects to enter into solar module recycling. It plans to lay out industry best practices for removing and using materials from end-of-life PV modules.
Borosil Renewables has integrated solar glass manufacturing activities in India and Europe. It has a 1,000 tons per day (tpd) solar glass facility in India, which can supply for 6 GW of solar module production each year. The limit in Europe is 350 tons each day, equivalent to 2 GW.
"With over 10 years of presence in the solar industry and a well-established relationship with all the important Indian and worldwide partners like solar module producers, solar project developers, policymakers, and so on, we firmly accept that we are very much positioned to make progress around here. We anticipate sending off this drive with the right innovation accomplices who are specialists in the domain to coordinate this innovation into our manufacturing capabilities," said Pradeep Kheruka, executive chairman of Borosil Renewables Ltd.
Borosil Renewables is looking for technology partners with an established environment-friendly solar module recycling process to recover maximum materials, including precious metals (silver) and silicon, in addition to glass, aluminium, copper, etc. The technology should have a recycling efficiency of more than 95%.
