Tata Power to Develop 60 MW Solar Project for Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam

Tata Power, is country’s largest integrated power firm. Tata Power on 23rd March said it is set to develop a 60 megawatt solar power project in Gujarat and has received a Letter of Award from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for the same.

Tata Power had won this capacity in a Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited bid in January this year.
 
“We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a 60 megawatt solar project in Gujarat... With this award the cumulative capacity under development in Gujarat would be 580 megawatt,” said Praveer Sinha, managing director and chief executive officer, Tata Power.
 
According to the company press release, the project would generate 156 million units of energy per year and would annually offset about 156 million kg of CO2.
 
It also added that Tata Power’s renewable capacity would increase to 4,007 megawatt, out of which 2,687 megawatt is operational and 1,320 megawatt is under implementation including 60 megawatt won under this PPA.
