Amplus Energy Solutions, one of India's leading provider of distributed solar and energy solutions recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Norway’s Kongsberg Digital to make use of the efficiency enhancing applications available in Kongsberg’s digital ecosystem called Kognifai.
A statement released by Amplus stated that, the company will explore the possibilities of applying Kognifai's digital solutions and applications including renewable asset management, and solar asset management for the solar space in India.
I Squared Capital, a global private equity fund that focuses on long-term infrastructure assets, supports AmplusEnergySolutions. It has a portfolio of over 600 MW and serves more than 150 customers in more than 270 locations in 22 countries through the Amplus Solar brand.
In an interview with Mercom, Amplus CEO Sanjeev Agarwal stated in August 2018 that Amplus holds a total portfolio in 200 sites with over 300 MW of operating and under construction solar power capacity in 20 countries in India. 280 MW were commissioned from the 300 MW already att that time.
It is expected that over the 25-year duration of projects, Amplus's project portfolio of 600 MW is to generate 118.090 million electricity units. Over the course of these projects, cumulative reduction in carbon would amount to 11.43 million tons. According to the release from the company, the environmental impact can be equated to 13,13 million mature trees that absorb carbon dioxide over 40 years.
Amplus have always participated actively in government-funded solar rooftop tenders and was successful in tendering for SECI, REMCL, CPWD, Railways and many others.
Guru Inder Mohan Singh, the COO of Amplus Energy Solutions said,“This partnership with Kongsberg Digital is another step in our endeavor to channelize the power of technology to maximize solar performance.”
This integrated solution will support work process automation, asset management solutions, planning & forecasting of solar power, and use machine learning and artificial intelligence to make work more efficient. Amplus will integrate the entire data and functionality into one system with substantially simplified reporting process being one of the benefits.
Kongsberg Digital provides next-generation software and digital solutions to customers within maritime, oil and gas, renewables and utilities.
Hege Skryseth, CEO of Kongsberg Digital said,“One of the many strengths of technology is that it is flexible and adaptable. That means technology created for one sector, in this case, wind power, can be adjusted and utilized in adjacent industries, like solar power. We have a strong belief in the future importance of solar power and believe we have much to contribute in making this energy source even more viable for the world of tomorrow,”
