There is a keen interest among Japanese companies in developing new capital city of A.P. – Yoichi Miyazawa, Minister for Trade and Industry, Japan
A.P. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met Masayoshi Son, Chairman, Softbank, during his tour to Japan. Setting up of the ambitious 20GW is on SoftBank’s radar and Mr. Son havs expressed willingness to establish solar power plant in Andhra Pradesh.
Manufacturing of solar panels too will be set up in the state itself, as part of ‘Make in India’ initiative. Softbank also proposes to finance and assist for the proposed university on non-conventional energy resources, and also plans to provide scholarships to engineering students who specialize in solar energy.
Japanese firms would look for equity in companies involved in constructing the new capital, said Mr. Yoichi Miyazawa, Minister for Trade and Industry, Japan and further assured that Japan is looking to invest heavily in metro project and waiting for Government of India to send the proposal accordingly. NEDO – New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation of Japan would be directed to partner the project.
Mr. Naidu meanwhile, expressed hope to attract maximum investments into Andhra Pradesh out of Japan’s pledged investment of $ 35 billion in India’s infrastructure.
