The government of India has announced its plan to set up 5GW wind-solar energy park, under its policy for ultra mega solar power policy is in the state of Gujarat which originally introduced the concept of solar parks. This integrated wind and solar energy park would generate about 800 MW of wind and 4.2 GW of solar energy.
Chakara Solar Park with a current operational generation capacity of 200MW and expected to expand to 590 MW is already the largest solar park in Asia.
SJVN and Hindustan Salt Limited, both public sector units will be responsible to execute the project. And Hindustan Salt Limited would provide its surplus land for the project.
