The Indian Government and the Government of Abu Dhabi Sign a Historic Agreement on Civil Nuclear Energy

Emirates Nuclear Energy Company And Nuclear Power collaboration Of India Limited signed a first-of-its-kind Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Barakah Nuclear Power plus operations and maintenance with the goal of advancing energy collaboration between India and Abu Dhabi.

The agreements were signed while Sheikh Khalid Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, was in India. At a cost of $20 billion, Korea Electric Power Corporation built the first nuclear power plant in the Arab world, the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, which has four reactors with a total capacity of 5,600 megawatts. At this point, all four units are working.
 
Also an arrangement for the extended procurement of LNG was inked by Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). It was also agreed upon by India Strategic Petroleum Reserve Limited (ISPRL) and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.
 
Urja Bharat and ADNOC recently signed a Production Concession Agreement for Abu Dhabi Onshore Block 1. The sixth agreement concerned the building of food parks in India and was made between the Gujarati government and Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company PJSC (ADQ).
 
Within the I2U2 cooperation, which also includes the United States and Israel, food parks were envisioned for Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. India and Abu Dhabi are members of this alliance. Considered as an extension of that grouping is the Gujarat Memorandum of Understanding pertaining to food parks. Together with Israel, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the United States, India forms the I2U2 group, a strategic alliance.
 
This coalition, which was established in 2021, is dedicated to improving cooperation in fields like economic development, infrastructure, and technology. Utilizing their combined strengths, the group hopes to address local and global issues while promoting innovation and economic progress.
