SJVN Signs PPA with Tata Power for 460 MW of Renewables-Plus-Storage

A power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 460 MW firm and dispatch able renewable energy (FDRE) project has been signed between Tata Power's subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL), and SJVN.

TPREL will build a hybrid renewable energy plant with the necessary amounts of solar, wind, and battery storage components to meet the 460 MW FDRE requirement. This will guarantee that during peak hours, discoms would dispatch the plant's generated power as and when needed, bringing stability to the system.

"FDRE makes it possible to have electricity available around-the-clock, which helps distribution firms (Discoms) meet their energy storage (ESO) and renewable purchase (RPO) commitments. TPREL said, "This win signifies our company's first-ever success in the FDRE tender and demonstrates our dedication to offering dependable and sustainable energy solutions."
