Mumbai-based Patel Engineering, a civil construction company focused on hydropower, has won an order valued at Rs.1, 564.42 crore for the Subansiri Lower hydropower project in Arunachal Pradesh. This will be the single largest hydro power generation project in India, the company said in a statement.
Subansiri Lower HEP will be a single largest hydro power generation project in India. The project is located at Kolaptukar village in Kamle district.
The project comprises balance civil works of power house complex including HRT (Head Race Tunnel) intake structures, tail race channel etc with main components, it said. Patel Engineering is a civil construction company focused on hydro power sector.
“Patel Engineering has been able to get this project and even mobilize the same during this Covid-19 Pandemic,” the company said in the stock exchange filing.
The detailed scope of work comprises construction of eight HRT intake structures, construction of eight 9.5 mm diameter horseshoe shaped head race tunnels with length varying from 610 mm to 1,170 mm, construction of eight mm diameter circular steel lined pressure shafts..
It also covers construction of surface power house (285 mm x 61 mm x 64 mm) along with control block and transformer hall cum GIS, construction of tail race channel of width 206 mm and length 35 mm joining to river, construction of adits associated with underground structures, construction of eight inclined surge tunnels of diameter 9.5 mm of length varying from 475 mm to 390 mm, eight vertical surge shafts of 9.5 mm circular in shape height varying from 10.5 mm to 12.5 mm.
