Royal Enfield , Eicher Motors' motorcycle division, on Monday reported a 43 per cent jump in total sales in January at 28,927 units as against 20,232 units in the corresponding month a year ago.
During January 2015, the number of Royal Enfield motorcycle units exported jumped by 82 per cent to 770 units as against 424 units in the year-ago month.
The company said the sales of its vehicles with engine capacity up to 350cc increased by 46 per cent at 25,799 units against 17,639 units in January 2014. The sales of Eicher Motors' vehicles with engine capacity exceeding 350cc increased by 21 per cent at 3,128 units as against 2,593 units in January 2014. The company's scrip was trading at Rs 16,560 a piece, up 256.50 points (or 1.57 per cent) at 12:24 pm on the BSE.
