Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group, said that it has supplied 150 trucks and buses to the Tanzania Police Force. The deliveries are part of a deal negotiated between Ashok Leyland and Tanzania's Ministry of Home Affairs, and are funded by a long-term soft credit from the Export Import Bank of India.
According to Ashok Leyland, the vehicles provided comprise Police Staff Buses, 4X4 Police Troop Carriers, ambulances, recovery trucks, and other logistic vehicles for the Police support services.
According to Ashok Leyland President Amandeep Singh, the 150 cars would be added to the 475 Ashok Leyland vehicles already in service with the Tanzanian Police Force across the nation.
The Ashok Leyland commercial vehicle manufacturer reported that the Tanzania Police Force now has a fleet of 625 vehicles, and that more cars are expected to be delivered in the upcoming months.
