The demand for electric vehicles in the auto industry is rapidly increasing, thus CM Yogi informed officials at a high-level conference that the auto and electric vehicle sectors in western and central UP already have sufficient resources and just need to be pushed to flourish. As a result, there will be plenty of job possibilities in this business.

 

According to a survey, the Growth State Value Addition (GSVA) of UP in the car sector was 1.5 billion dollars in 2019, with the potential to expand to five billion dollars in the following five years.

 

According to an official announcement, 9000-10,000 acres of land would be required in western and central Uttar Pradesh for the development of the sector; the Yogi administration will invest 19-20 billion dollars on this. At the same time, car components for electric vehicles manufactured here will be shipped to the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, and South Asia. Batteries for two- and three-wheeled electric vehicles are in great demand.

 

During the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath noted that both major companies and MSMEs (Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) play an important role in the auto sector and are sufficiently numerous and well-established in western and central UP. The highway can also be used to transport equipment to these enterprises.

 

At the same time, the Easton Dedicated Freight Corridor, which can be readily constructed and connected to the expressway, may be easily established here to enhance exports. According to the announcement, the Yogi administration has picked Agra, Shahjahanpur, Aligarh, Prayagraj, Saharanpur, and Etawah to enhance the MSME sector, while Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Hapur, Kanpur Nagar, and Meerut have been chosen to support the car industry.

 

Enough resources are currently available to develop western UP as an original equipment manufacturing belt and build a trillion-dollar economy for the state. Central Uttar Pradesh, on the other hand, is ideal for the most essential metal sector for the auto industry as well as other industries associated to it.

 

The MSME industry already exists for these businesses; it just has to be expanded. In the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that in order to strengthen the auto zone and automotive industry in western Uttar Pradesh, emphasis must be made to auxiliary and downstream industries linked with the automotive sector.

 

Green zones will need to be established for the rubber processing, plastic, metal, machinery, glass, and auxiliary sectors of electric car OEMs. The state's EV charging network must also be increased, according to the CM. The electric vehicle industry is focused on EV charging, research, and product development. This is where batteries, battery chemicals, cell manufacture, fuel, and welding come in.

 

In such a situation, technicians for casting, welding equipment, assembling electric cars, and heat treatment would be most needed. The announcement stated that these positions will have the most job opportunities. According to the survey report, 60,000 to 70,000 individuals were employed in this industry in 2017, but owing to its development, 90,000 to 1.10 lakh employment possibilities would be available each year over the next five years.

 

CM Yogi stated that two and three-wheeler EV vehicles and EV parts manufactured in Central and Western UP will be exported to the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, and South Asia. These nations provide the best opportunities for the supply of EVs and EV parts.
