The Indian Economic Trade Organization, in collaboration with the India Africa Trade Council, previously hosted the INDIA EAC SUMMIT in New Delhi, which was attended by Rwandan, Tanzanian, and Ugandan High Commissioners, as well as the Ambassador of Zimbabwe in India. The goal was to strengthen bilateral commercial links between India and the EAC member nations of Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, and Kenya.

The event focused on establishing links with the EAC area, with several presentations from Heads of Mission and an emphasis on creating collaborations that would be mutually advantageous to these countries, particularly following Covid 19.

The East African Community (EAC) is a regional intergovernmental organisation comprised of six Partner States: Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, the United Republic of Tanzania, and the Republic of Uganda, with its headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.

"There is a lot of interest in India with Tanzania, Rwanda, and Kenya as the Investment Hub since it is a rising area with a lot of prospects for international business with its industrial base." The India Africa Trade Council will open trade desks in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka focused on the EAC area to assist Indian businessmen interested in doing business in the EAC countries. "These offices are anticipated to engage directly with various embassies in Delhi in order to offer possibilities to areas like Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad," stated Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of the Indian Economic Trae Organization.

"India and Africa will remain at the top of our priorities, according to the Ministry's Vision, and we will continue to expand and deepen our engagement with the whole African area, which will be ongoing and consistent." Our development relationships will be directed by their goals, and we will create as much local capability and opportunity as feasible. "In August of this year, India and the East African Community signed a joint action plan to boost bilateral trade by ensuring faster clearance of goods, which has a great economic potential for both sides," said Shri. Puneet Roy Kundal, IFS, Joint Secretary of the East and South Africa Division at the Ministry of External Affairs, who is also in charge of the East and South Africa Division.

"The United Republic of Tanzania is endowed with a vast number of resources such as arable land for agricultural purposes, abundant tourist attractions, minerals of all kinds, ports and harbours, energy resources, and so on, and wishes to utilise the same through the blending of outsourcing from other partner countries such as India in sourcing in order to achieve win-win economic prosperity," said His Excellency Mr. Baraka H. Luvanda.

"From a commercial standpoint, Africa is our most valuable asset." People and governments are adaptable, and they have a strong connection with Indian businesses seeking new chances. We have a lot in common in terms of cultural and social characteristics, and we have a lot of respect for each other, which is why the Indo-African trade connection is so strong. Mr. Varun Jain, Chairman of the India Africa Trade Council, stated, "We from the NV group are trying to expand markets all across Africa to offer Indian drinks, hence boosting the Make in India ideals" (AfCFTA).

“With a nearly 100% literacy level, Zimbabwe has the most enlightened people on the African continent. They respect visitors and look forward to change that will bring them back their prosperity. Zim, as it is called by those who have an affection for it,” said HE Dr. Godfrey Majoni Chipare, the Ambassador of Zimbabwe to India.
