TVS Motor Company has recently signed a distribution partnership with ETG Logistics, part of a prominent South African business group which is present in over 70 countries across Africa, the Indian Sub-Continent, South East Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
ETGL is said to function 30 dealerships for TVS Motor Company in South Africa as part of this corporation, the Indian two- and three-wheeler maker stated.
The South African company will also deliver devoted sales, service, spares and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Services for TVS Motor Co, together with the assembly set-up and training centre in Johannesburg.
Head of TVS Motor Co’s international business, R Dilip, mentioned that this deal will help his company “expand its presence in South Africa”.
He further stated, “ETGL comes with rich experience, profound understanding and vast knowledge of the market,” calculation that South Africa is a significant market for TVS.
Dilip also stated, “This association with ETGL is a noteworthy step in the direction of increasing TVS Motor Company’s market existence in Southern Africa, driving revolution through best-in-class products and setting a customer experience benchmark,”
Although it earlier started out with slightly underpowered mopeds catering to the rural market, TVS Motor has now slowly but progressively moved up the value chain in the past 25 years or so, and today has an existence in the mass premium, commuter and scooter markets as well.
Along with company like Bajaj Auto, the company is one of the really few Indian manufacturing brands that has constructed for itself a big brand outside India, and has been able to to raise the share of international revenue to about half of its total in recent years.
Rajeev Saxena, Director of ETGL, said that the partnership will advance the array of mobility solutions in South Africa.
