Tata Motors launched its latest SUV in the Sri Lankan market; it is the first of its kind motor to be introduced by the Indian auto maker in the region. Nexon is one of the latest cars to be brought to the markets, including the likes of Tata Tiago, Tata Tigor and Tata Hexa. The SUV is available in both petrol and diesel engine options with six variants on offer. The distribution for Tata motors in Sri Lanka will be looked after by Diesel & Motors Engineering PLC (DIMO). DIMO has been selling Tata cars like Tata Nano, Tata Zest and Tata Bolt cars in the country.
During a crash test conducted by Global NCAP, Nexon SUV scored a 4-star rating, including its structure being rated as very stable for use. Mayank Pareek, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors says that with the introduction of Nexon in Sri Lanka, Tata Motors aim to tap a larger market and increase its market share in both compact SUV and AMT segments respectively.
