World’s leading supplier of safety technologies, efficiency, and connectivity of commercial vehicles WABCO Holdings Inc, announced its first major deal in India. WABCO has signed the deal with TATA motors for Power Steering System supply mostly for its heavy vehicle sector. The company recently acquired U.S.-based R.H. Sheppard in September 2017, a key supplier of steering technologies for commercial vehicles.
WABCO has engaged Tata motors with its hydraulic power steering systems in order to meet their demand for heavy-duty vehicles. This is due to the recently authorized restrictions on axle weight loads. The deal with WABCO would enable Tata Motors to meet the demand and supply, with the help of WABCO’s globalized integrated supply chain.
"This landmark steering technology agreement with Tata Motors in India is another example of WABCO's powerful ability to globalize our rich technology portfolio," said Jorge Solis, WABCO President, Truck, Bus and Car OEM Division.
We are delighted that the introduction of WABCO's industry-leading steering systems for the first time in India further differentiates our strong partnership with Tata Motors while helping them to meet this additional level of demand," added P. Kaniappan, WABCO India Managing Director.
With the help of its vision for accident-free driving and greener transport resolution, the company is head and advanced with a fleet management solution that adds to the commercial fleet efficiency.
